Leesi Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Leesi collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you discover, join, create, or manage local activities; interact with other users; or use Leesi’s safety and community features.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and profile information

If you create an account, we may collect your email address, display name, username, profile image, biography, interests, account credentials or authentication tokens, settings, and internal account identifiers. If you sign in through a third-party authentication provider, we receive the account details that provider makes available with your authorization.

1.2 Event and community content

We collect information you submit, including event titles, descriptions, categories, dates, times, locations, capacity, images, organizer details, invitations, registration questions, comments, messages, and other content. If you organize an event, we also process participant responses and attendance-related information needed to manage it.

1.3 Registration and activity information

We may collect events you view, search for, save, share, join, leave, or organize; registration status; interests and category preferences; interaction timestamps; invitation responses; and notification preferences. This allows us to provide requested features and make activity discovery more relevant.

1.4 Location information

If you grant device permission, Leesi may process precise or approximate location to show nearby activities, calculate relevance or distance, populate an event location, or support map features. Leesi may also process an area, city, address, or map point that you search for or enter manually. You can deny or revoke device location permission in system settings, although nearby discovery may then be limited.

1.5 Communications, reports, and blocks

We collect communications you send through Leesi, messages to support, reports about events, content, conduct, or accounts, block records, appeals, and related moderation information. When a report is made, we may review the reported material and relevant account or interaction history to investigate and protect users.

1.6 Device and technical information

We may collect app version, device and operating-system type, language, time zone, network information such as IP address, request timestamps, crash data, diagnostics, performance information, and security events. The exact information depends on the app version and services used.

1.7 Photos, camera, and notifications

With your permission, Leesi may access the camera or photo library when you choose a profile image or add media to an event. Leesi processes only the media you select or create for the requested feature. If you enable notifications, the operating system provides a notification token that may be used to deliver reminders, invitations, registration updates, messages, account notices, and safety information.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and operate accounts and profiles.
• Display, search, recommend, save, and share local activities.
• Process registrations, withdrawals, invitations, reminders, and organizer updates.
• Enable event creation, participant management, and user communications.
• Provide location-based discovery and map-related features you request.
• Respond to support, account, privacy, and legal requests.
• Detect spam, fraud, misuse, unsafe conduct, and technical threats.
• Review reports, operate blocking tools, enforce rules, and protect the community.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, measure, and improve Leesi.
• Comply with law and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

3. Legal Bases Where Applicable

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process personal data as necessary to provide the service you request and perform our agreement with you; with your consent, including for permission-based device features; for legitimate interests such as securing and improving Leesi and protecting users, balanced against your rights; and to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through device or app settings where available, without affecting processing already completed lawfully.

4. Information Visible to Other Users

Profile information and event listings you publish may be visible to other users. Depending on event settings, organizers may see the profile and registration information of participants, and participants may see organizer information or other attendee information disclosed by the feature. Messages and comments are visible to their intended recipients or audience.

Avoid publishing sensitive personal information. An event location may reveal where you or others will be at a particular time. Use an appropriate public meeting point when possible. Deleting content limits future display through Leesi but cannot remove copies that another person has already saved or shared outside our control.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

• At your direction: when you publish an event, join an activity, send a message, share content, or otherwise request disclosure.
• To organizers and participants: to administer registrations, invitations, attendance, event updates, and event-related communication.
• To service providers: companies supporting hosting, storage, maps, notifications, authentication, communications, diagnostics, security, moderation, or customer support, under contractual restrictions appropriate to their role.
• For legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law or lawful process, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, property, and safety of users, Leesi, or others.
• For a business transaction: in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

Leesi does not sell personal information. We do not disclose personal information for third-party cross-context behavioral advertising. If these practices change, we will update this policy and provide any choices or consent required by law and platform rules.

6. Third-Party Services

Leesi may use third-party services for functions such as maps, authentication, hosting, notifications, diagnostics, or links to external sites. Those providers may process information under our instructions or, where they act independently, under their own privacy policies. Information you provide directly to an organizer, venue, map provider, or external website is governed by that recipient’s practices. Review third-party policies before sharing information.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Leesi and for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information and context. Account and published event data may remain while your account is active; registration and event records may remain for a reasonable period after an event; reports and block records may be retained to investigate repeated abuse; and security or legal records may be retained as needed for fraud prevention, disputes, or legal obligations.

Deleted data may remain in restricted backups for a limited recovery cycle before deletion or de-identification. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

8. Account and Content Deletion

You may delete or edit eligible content through the available controls. If Leesi supports account creation, you may initiate account deletion from account settings or through the support method displayed in the app. Account deletion removes the account and associated personal data, including user-generated content, unless retention is required or permitted for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or the protection of others. Deleting Leesi from your device does not by itself delete your account.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access personal information and obtain a portable copy.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Request deletion of personal information.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
• Appeal a denied request or complain to a data-protection authority.

You can manage profile details, event content, blocked users, notifications, and available privacy settings in Leesi. Camera, photo, location, and notification permissions can be changed in device settings. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request and may retain a record of the request as required by law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials confidential, use care when sharing event locations or meeting new people, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access.

11. International Processing

Leesi and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data-protection laws may differ in those locations. Where required, we use recognized contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers and preserve rights available under applicable law.

12. Children’s Privacy

Leesi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A higher minimum age or parental consent requirement may apply in some places. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable law, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features, practices, or law. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. If a change requires consent, we will request it before applying the new processing to you.
